| Our Fourth Anniversary Party will be July 6 with a BBQ and member potluck, with entree furnished by SCDC. The cost will be FREE if you bring a dish to share or $10 if you would rather not cook. If you plan to bring a dish to share, please sign up at our June 15 dance, or email us at spacecoastdanceclub@yahoo.com with your name and item/dish you will be bringing. Also that weekend, Bruce and Beth Perrotta will be conducting West Coast Swing workshops. There will be three workshops on Saturday, July 6, and a Free 30-minute workshop before the Saturday night dance. | Cost of the Workshops will be $10 EACH, or $25 for all three FOR MEMBERS ONLY. Non-Members will pay $10 each (no discount). Here are the time and descriptions: 2:00 - 3:00 PM: SMOOTH AND CREAMY WHIPS-Proper technique, rhythms and connection for basic whips, adding whips with variations or two beat extensions. 3:15 - 4:15 PM: TURN IT UP- Short training on step turns/pivots/spotting in WCS and easy one footed spins. Learn and practice a pattern for both the leader and follower that includes spins and turns. 4:30-5:30 PM: FANCIER FINISHES-Starting with a basic pattern or two, with emphasis on using connection with matched resistance, adding variations for finishing for the leader and follower. Patterns will build from basic to more difficult, something for all. |
