Chris Marcelle, former owner of the Palm Beach Ballroom, has been dancing, teaching and DJing for over 20 yrs. Chris continues to update her music collection, continues to take lessons and shares her love of dance weekly at the Wickham Park Senior Center on Monday evenings. SCDC is delighted to welcome Chris as our Guest DJ.

Michael and Ann are our guest instructors and DJs for the June 4 Party Dance. They teach Ballroom, Latin and Country dance groups and private lessons at Beachside Dance Club in Indian Harbor Beach. They are known for their innovative lesson and dance formats. They host a fabulous Friday night dance, often with themes and always a fun evening."We try to bring Ballroom, Latin and Country dancers together to help widen their dance experience”, said Michael. SCDC is delighted to feature these local DJs/Instructors for a Saturday night party.

SCDC welcomes Colleen Uspensky to DJ and Instruct for the first time. Colleen comes to SCDC with a strong recommendation from another Chicago transplant, Jeff Mumford. She is a passionate WCS dancer who has promoted dancing throughout the Chicago area, the USA, and the World. In Chicago Colleen was Program Director for Dancing with Class, where she worked to bring social dance to the youth of Chicago Public Schools. She holds a degree in Dance Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Now based in South Florida, she is continuing dancing and teaching and will be an exciting addition to our dance community. Let’s give her a big welcome to our state and our club!

SCDC is Celebrating our Club Anniversary with an amazing weekend of workshops, dancing and Private Lesson FUN! Matt Auclair will be our guest for the weekend of July 1, 2 and 3.


Matt Auclair is a 6th time US Open champion. He has competed, performed, and taught all across the nation and world and is excited to come back for his second visit to teach at SCDC. Matt’s training as an educator helps him to break down his lessons in an easy fun way. His unique combination of dancing talent and teaching skill makes him one of the most sought-after instructors in the WCS world.

Danielle Blouin is a legendary performer and teacher, with two Showcase World Championships and three Top Teacher titles in country dancing. She is nationally known as Co-Director of the Floorplay Swing Vacation celebrating New Year’s Eve each year. She has been a strong supporter of SCDC for many years, and her annual visits are always major Happenings. Danielle always shares her abundant energy and style and her enjoyment of the dance. SCDC is delighted to welcome her back for another big fun Swing & Country party.

John Harris, our neighbor in West Palm Beach, is an awesome dance pro.John is a professional dance instructor, competitor, and judge. He has multiple titles at national competitions, including West Coast Swing, Country, Salsa, and Hustle. He is a Florida State West Coast Swing Dance Champion and retired All-Star Competitor in WCS. He has also competed in Pro-Pro on the UCWDC Country Circuit with Raquel Reynolds. He has over 28+ years dancing and over 19+ years of experience teaching including 14 years as owner of the Sultry Swing studio in West Palm Beach. SCDC is fortunate to have caught John on a weekend when he is available. John is an expert in almost every style and has a great playlist. This will be fun!

We had so much fun with John on April 30, we invited him to come again! John Beers has been a featured DJ in the Melbourne area for more than 15 years. His events at Melbourne Floorplay were a long-time favorite of our dancers. The Floorplay Halloween costume party was a highlight of the year for our local community. John plays a wide variety of styles with lots of energy and a strong beat. SCDC is delighted to welcome him back to our floor!

DJ Anne Marie, will be featured at the September 3 Party Dance. She is a long-time favorite of SCDC dancers. Her guest appearances at SCDC are always lively and fun. Her great mix of styles includes a Party Mix of Swing, Smooth, Latin, Country and other favorites, with Mixers. Anne Marie gets great reviews and big smiles from our dancers every time she visits. The Magic Markers, Jason and Annmarie, have a uniquely successful teaching style They teach classes that are buoyant, energetic and fun. Their emphasis is on strong fundamentals and connection, while also delivering styling and enjoyment for all levels of dancers. The Markers are nationally known for their two great WCS events: Spotlight New Year’s and the Michigan Classic. Their events are always welcoming, social, and happy. Our dancers loved the visit by Sebastian Quinones and Ashleigh Taylor in April! We are excited that they are coming back again. Seb and Ashleigh will present a lesson at 6:30 PM and dance with DJ Seb from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Seb and Ashleigh are top competitors, great instructors, and lots of fun. We wanted to get a head start on Halloween, a holiday everyone at SCDC eagerly anticipates. We will be celebrating Halloween on October 15 with a costume contest with prizes. Wear a costume if you would like or clap for the winners. Joe and Shari play great music and everybody joins in the fun. Music will be a Party Mix interspersed with Halloween classics. Dance parties with Joe and Shari have been very popular with lots of energy. They know how to get into the spirit of the Halloween festival. Come join in the fun!!

PJ is one of the most approachable pros in dance. He is always animated on the floor, and brings a smile to all of his students. Since his first visit to SCDC in 2017 PJ has become a favorite with our dancers, who love his warmth, humor, and willingness to share his joy for West Coast Swing.


PJ started dancing at age 10. While still a teen, performed as a dancer on local televison show for three years. During his TV career he learned 2-step, triple two, waltz, anf cha-cha. When he saw West Coast Swing he knew it was his dance future. PJ has been dancing and performing WCS since 2001. By 2012 he was a tour champion, with awards at events throughout the USA. In 2013 he was a US Open finalist and performed the Off-Broadway show Swango. Since 2015 PJ has continued to teach, perform, and compete all over the world. SCDC is proud to welcome our good friend PJ back to our club.

The SCDC Holiday party will feature DJ Anne Marie. Anne Marie delights the dancers at our Holiday parties. Her extensive play list includes a festive and energetic mix of music especially for this time of year. Anne Marie gets great reviews and big smiles from all our dancers every time she visits. Music starts at 7:30 PM on Saturday, December 17. We know you will enjoy this special annual event where our members and guests share the excitement of the season. See you there!
